#FamilyBusiness: guest lecture by Evelyn Kirchmaier at the University of Bolzano

12.04.2019 - Italy

What does it mean to be a family business in the services industry and what are the advantages and challenges of this business model?

Evelyn Kirchmaier, General Manager of Markas, answered these questions as part of a guest lecture on Family Business Management at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano, held by Prof. Alfredo De Massis.

The students showed great interest in this topic and learned more about what it means to be a family-run service company in a market in Italy dominated by large multinationals, cooperatives, consortia and listed companies.

"In our market of reference - emphasized Evelyn Kirchmaier - being a family business identifies us and distinguishes us from all the realities of our sector. Our motto is "we take care" and I think that the prerogative of family businesses is the desire to invest as much in the quality of service for its customers as in offering an excellent working environment to employees."
