
Employee satisfaction as focus
Markas is employer of almost 2.200 employees all over Austria and has doubled its size during the last eight years. As a value-based family-run business, it is our concern to create a pleasant working environment for our employees, in which they feel comfortable. With the growing number of our staff the challenge to keep our employees satisfied, increases. For this reason we implemented a periodical survey in 2014 to detect potentials for improvement.
Gerlinde Tröstl, managing director of Markas Austria, on the results: “I am very happy and proud of the latest outcomes of the survey that took place in October – they show that we are well on our way. Especially in the fields of appreciation and professional development we could improve our results once again. Results without growth or even decreased figures show us where we need to take action. During the next few weeks we will define specific actions to create an even more attractive working environment for our employees.”

Professional training and balance between work and family life as priorities
On the basis of the surveys from 2014 and 2016 Markas has initiated projects to work on its development potentials as employer. The latest results show: We are on track!
Since the first survey in 2014 we increased by 22% to 59% in total in the field of “training and professional development”. We work constantly on our employee training and continuing education programs to support the development of our employees both on a professional and personal level, i.e. through collaborations with Tana Green Effective Academy and the Gebäudereinigungsakademie in Vienna, free German courses and our leadership development program.
With our participation at the audit “work & family” we show once more our efforts to help our employees to create a family friendly working environment and find good balance between work and family life. In this field we want to further enhance our actions and will work on specific actions to improve compatibility of work and family life.
