Markas Vaprio recognized “Workplaces that promote health”

The promotion of a comfortable and healthy workplace is always one of the main goals of Markas, that considers the employees its most valuable asset. After repeatedly being in the top positions of the Great Place to Work Italy classification, in 2018 Markas joined a new project that involved the site of Vaprio in Lombardy, Italy. Named “Workplaces that promote health”, it is focused on the wellbeing of the employees.

The program “Workplaces that promote health – WHP Lombardy”, promoted by WHO (World Health Organization) and recognized by the Ministry of Health, aims at encouraging firms to promote and spread healthy lifestyles inside and outside the workplace.
To obtain the certification given by the Health Protection Agency the companies that take part in the program have to commit to the creation of an environment that can stimulate healthy choices and behaviors.

Markas obtained the recognition “Workplace that promotes health” thanks to the promotion of several good actions that can divided into 3 areas: road safety through the promotion of a safe driving course; Physical exercise offering discounts for gyms, pools and sport centers as well as sport cloths and equipment. Moreover, Markas launched “Stairs for health”, an idea that aimed at encouraging the use of the stairs; Work-life balance with the introduction of the “Smartworking” that gives the office employees the chance to work from home in specific days. Furthermore, the company increased its welfare by activating several discounts that everyone can use.
