Our Story

Our journey from our origins to an international presence.

1985
Markas and its first major contract
On 15 May, Mario Kasslatter and Haidrun Achammer founded the company. The same year, Markas won its first cleaning contract with the city hospital in Cuneo, Italy.
1986
Markas Austria founded
With headquarters in Baden, Vienna. Its first customer was Landesklinikum Thermenregion Baden. The Group began to grow internationally.
2010-2011
A new family leadership
In 2010 and 2011, the next generation took the reins: Christoph Kasslatter became MD and his wife Evelyn Kirchmaier joined the leadership team the following year.
2012
Strategy and the future at Markas Day
On 7 September, at Markas Day in Bolzano, Italy, Christoph Kasslatter presented the company strategy to over 300 employees.
2017
Markas Germany founded
On 20 September, Markas Germany was founded, with headquarters in Munich.
2018
Markas 2030 Strategy
On 14 December, Markas Innovation Day was held in Bolzano, to which 400 Group employees were invited and where the Markas 2030 Strategy was presented.
2023
The first Sustainability Report
On 2 October, Markas published its first Sustainability Report, so strengthening its social, economic and environmental commitment.
2025
Markas Strategy Day
On 4 December, Markas Strategy Day was held in Verona. The event brought together over 500 employees to discuss the four pillars of sustainable growth towards 2030.
