Markas Austria Managing Director Gerlinde Tröstl honored with Unternehmerinnen Award

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the awarding ceremony of this year's Unternehmerinnen Award took place in Vienna at Kursalon Hübner. The award was presented this year for the ninth time by the daily newspaper "Die Presse" and "Frau in der Wirtschaft" in five categories in order to honor Austria's best female entrepreneurs.

Markas Austria Managing Director Gerlinde Tröstl was awarded with the project "This is Us" in the category "Social Entrepreneurship".

She is visibly proud and pleased about the award as one of the best female entrepreneurs in Austria: "Equal opportunities are very important to us as a family business. We employ people from 70 nations, and 40 of our employees have some form of disability. For this reason, we have launched the "This is Us" project to raise awareness within the company about our diversity. To be able to coordinate all these activities and measures, we have had our own diversity and inclusion officer for 2 years."    

Markas Austria currently employs over 2,200 employees and has already received several awards for its commitment to diversity & inclusion in recent years: in addition to the ALC Special Award for Inclusion in November 2021, Markas also made it into the top 3 at the Austrian TRIGOS in July 2022. In November 2022, Markas was awarded the Hermes.Wirtschafts.Preis.
