Raffaello project: our commitment to workplace inclusion

31.08.2026

Workplace inclusion only becomes meaningful when it moves beyond stated principles and translates into concrete organisational choices. This is why we chose to sign the Charter of Rights developed as part of the “Raffaello – L'inclusione crea valore” project, a commitment that encourages us to rethink how we support vulnerable employees and working carers in their everyday working lives.

What is the Raffaello project?

The Raffaello project was launched on 27 October 2025 by a law firm specialising in employment law together with an organisational consultancy. Its aim is to turn principles that are widely shared in theory into practical measures that can be applied within organisations. The initiative brought together a number of companies for an open exchange of experiences and perspectives. Each organisation contributed its own insights, working collectively to develop a document designed to support people experiencing vulnerability throughout every stage of their career. Markas also took part in this dialogue and, at the end of the process, chose to formally sign the Charter.

Why did Markas join the project?

Taking part in the Raffaello project gave us the opportunity to engage with a complex topic in a practical way, comparing our organisational experience with that of other companies and openly discussing the challenges that can arise when supporting vulnerable employees in their day-to-day working lives. This shared process resulted in a practical document developed step by step together with the other organisations involved, rather than a set of principles imposed from above. It was precisely the value of this collaborative approach that led us to go beyond simply participating in the project and to formally sign the Charter, adopting it as a guide for our future organisational decisions.

Through this commitment, we aim to create a working environment where people experiencing vulnerability do not feel they need to hide their circumstances for fear of being judged. The Charter also recognises those who care for a family member outside working hours. It encourages companies to acknowledge the importance of their role and to provide practical support that enables employees to balance their personal responsibilities and their careers, without having to sacrifice one for the other.
