Markas Zentrale Österreich in St. Pölten

Strong roots, clear vision
Since its founding in 1985, Markas has been a family business with deeply held values: reliability, commitment, and fairness define its daily operations. With over 13,000 employees in Austria, Italy, and Germany, Markas is one of the leading service companies in the areas of cleaning, food preparation, patient logistics, and housekeeping.

Focus on healthcare, innovation, and B2B
The strategic direction remains clear: Markas is focused on strengthening its core business in healthcare and expanding its B2B sector. Future topics such as robotics, digitalization, and artificial intelligence are being actively pursued. The company continuously invests in new technologies to make services even more efficient and sustainable.

Inclusion as lived responsibility
A central component of the company culture is lived inclusion. Currently, 40 employees* with disabilities work at Markas Austria (*as of editorial deadline, as stated in the interview, it was 34). An impressive example is employee Can Degirmencioglu, who works in the laundry of a major client despite visual impairment. With specially developed aids like a custom-mounted illuminated sign and sensor shoes, he can successfully perform his work.

Furthermore, an internal Diversity and Inclusion Officer provides concrete support, raises awareness, and removes barriers. The successful implementation is also reflected in numerous awards, such as the Trigos Sustainability Award and the European Cleaning & Hygiene Award.

Keep-Balance-Helpline: psychological support for all employees
Markas is particularly proud of the introduction of the "Keep-Balance-Helpline." This service offers all employees in Austria free and anonymous psychological support – an initiative that began during the pandemic and continues successfully to this day.

Sustainability as a guiding principle until 2030 and beyond
With its Strategy 2030, Markas further solidifies sustainability and digitalization within the company. Transparent processes, innovative solutions like robotics, and sustainable corporate management remain the foundation for long-term success.

a strong team

A strong team for a strong future
Christoph Kasslatter emphasizes: "Inclusion is a matter of attitude, not limitation." This attitude is lived daily – from management to on-site operational teams.

Markas remains a reliable partner for customers – and an attractive employer for all who wish to be part of a value-oriented and future-focused corporate culture.
