Markas Health Week 2025: A whole week dedicated to well-being and prevention

20.10.2025 - Austria

What started in 2019 as a single Health Day at the Markas Austria headquarters in St. Pölten has successfully evolved since last year into the Markas Health Week.

The reason is obvious: with home office, flexible working models, and different workplaces, it was important for us to give as many colleagues as possible the opportunity to participate in our health initiatives.

From October 13 to 16, 2025, everything at Markas Austria revolved around exercise, relaxation, and mindful nutrition.

Our diverse program invited everyone to try new things, consciously take time for their health, and start the autumn stronger together.

The kick-off on Monday began with a healthy snack for all, providing fresh bites and vital impulses to start the week. In addition, those interested were able to learn more about the new “Lease my Bike” initiative, which offers employees the opportunity to lease a high-quality bicycle or e-bike through Markas – an idea that originated in our Markas Lab Ideas competition. Employees not only received valuable information, but also had the chance to test different models on site and receive individual advice.

Dr. Elisabeth Balthazar gives interested employees valuable insights on longevity.

On Tuesday, the lecture “Healthy into the Future – Longevity & Biohacking” focused on strategies for a long, healthy, and high-performing life.

An expert provided exciting insights into current trends, explained the scientific background, and showed how small changes in everyday life – from nutrition and sleep to mental fitness – can have a big impact.

Wednesday was dedicated to the topic of breathing and mindfulness with “Clear in Mind – Strong in Everyday Life.” Participants learned practical techniques to stay calm in challenging situations, strengthen focus, and maintain their performance.

The final day, Thursday, covered two key topics: “First Aid – Saving Lives” provided hands-on knowledge on how to act correctly in an emergency, while another course focused specifically on first aid for children – a valuable contribution that provided confidence and enabled participants to remain composed even in stressful situations.

“The Health Week is an important part of our corporate culture.
We want to give our colleagues the opportunity to actively do something for their well-being.
Because only those who feel well can give their best in the long run.”
— Angelina Zenta, Human Resources Director of Markas Austria.

With Health Week, we send a strong signal that the well-being of our employees is close to our hearts – fully in line with Markas Austrias motto: “We care.”

The high level of participation and positive feedback shows that the Markas Health Week is much more than just an event – it is an expression of our appreciation and an important building block for integrating health and prevention into our everyday work in a sustainable way. We are already looking forward to many more inspiring activities in the years to come.
